Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt will have nothing to do with the upcoming Amademy Awards, but that certainly won’t stop them from attending the event’s various pre parties.

Looknig more in love than ever, the pseudo celebrity couple stopped by the Vanity Fair Hollywood Lounge at the Palihouse Hotel in West Hollywood yesterday (March 1) to pick up some free swag.

Meanwhile, Antony Hopkins has taken a pot shot at Paris and the current crop of celebrity socialites, comparing them to soulless “machines.”

The lengedary actor is reportedly fed up with skinny models and stars on the red carpet who lack substance and he’s singled out the hotel heiress for appearing to have nothing “going on up there.”

“We’re living in a pretty strange time. I went into a shop to buy my wife some clothes and I wanted them gift-wrapped,” he says. “And they had this big plasma screen on with these women on the catwalk. I thought, ‘God almighty, what have we become?’ These girls - anorexic, walking like machines, no soul.”

He adds: “You look at fashion magazines and you think, ‘What are we living in?’ You look at the red carpet, Paris Hilton, you know, these people and you think, ‘Is there anything going on up there?’ It’s a mass enslavement and it’s kind of fascism. And it’s the androgyny of it; the androgyny of the human soul. I don’t think people think any more. But maybe I’m just old.”

Doing what she does best, Paris Hilton celebrated her 29th birthday in Las Vegas, Nevada last night (February 20).

Joined by beau Doug Reinhardt, parents Kathy and Rick Hilton, and a slew of well-wishing partygoers, the bleach blonde birthday girl was all smiles as she got the party started with dinner and cake at TAO restaurant at the Venetian.

During her big night out, Paris tweeted, “Just walked into dinner at Tao. Walking in was crazy! There were tons of people all waiting to greet me and say Happy Birthday! So Sweet!” Afterwards, she added: “What a fun night! My mom and Doug were so cute dancing together! I love how my parents love my love! We all had a blast! Great night!”

Meanwhile, despite the united front, Paris was reportedly left fuming at another one of her 29th birthday bashes after Doug got into a fight with her friend Brandon Davis and then later began arguing with her in the middle of New York hot spot Tea Room on Thursday.

Doug was apparently angry after Brandon arrived unexpectedly and appeared to be inebriated.

“One minute, Paris and Doug were looking all loved up; the next minute, they started bickering,” a source tells the New York Post. “Doug didn’t seem happy about all the attention she was getting. Paris started to pout and gave him some girly punches in the back before storming off. The next minute, Doug was shouting at Brandon. The music was so loud that we couldn’t hear what he was saying, but he then got Brandon thrown out of the door.”

But the birthday girl patched things up with her boyfriend and ended the night with a smile on her face . “She and Doug were looking all romantic by the end of the night.”

Considering she famously celebrates her birthday by taking private jets to various cities all around the world to party, Paris Hilton celebrated her 29th in a rather low-key fashion last night (February 17).

Joined by her sister Nicky, her parents Kathy and Rick, and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, the birthday girl enjoyed a night of authentic Italian cuisine surrounded by loved ones.

After wining and dining all evening long, Paris could be seen leaving the celeb-friendly eatery with oodles of gifts, including designer shoes and high-end toys.

During her night out, Paris tweeted, “Just had a lovely dinner with the fam at Dan Tana’s. Yum, loves it!” She later added: “Doug gave the most beautiful birthday speech to me at dinner in front of my family. So sweet!

Doug Reinhardt treated his socialite girlfriend Paris Hilton to lunch at The Ivy in Beverly Hills today (February 17) for her 29th birthday.

The couple were in good spirits, enjoying the camera attention, and Doug even gave photographers a great big wink when asked about their evening plans.

Following their lunch date, Paris tweeted: “Had a Romantic lunch with Doug at the Ivy, then he took me shopping at one of my favourite stores Maxfields and bought me tons of pressies!”

Today (February 15) the hedonistic duo were spotted at Marina da Gloria to enjoy a trip on a luxury yacht in Rio de Janeiro.

Paris and Doug are currently in Brazil to embrace the country’s spectacular Carnival in Rio. After watching a day’s worth of events from a from VIP box along the parade route, Paris is expected to play up for the cameras later on, having been hired as the face of an advertising campaign for another brand of Brazilian beer.

After touching down earlier at Santos Dumont Airport in a private jet, the lovebirds were prepared to have a no expenses spared Valentine’s Day all while promoting Paris’ various business ventures.

Last night’s event was the official launch party for a new beer she’s promoting. Needless to say, everyone involved had a cheeky time!

Following a luxurious flight on a private plane, Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt were seen arriving into Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today (February 13).

After touching down, the lovebirds checked into the historical Copacabana Palace Hotel where they will stay during Carnival.

Following their arrival, Paris tweeted: “Just landed in Rio!!! Huge!! Our hotel is beautiful! Right on the beach! Rio rocks!”

Meanwhile, despite endless rumours of an engagement, Paris’ mom Kathy Hilton has been quoted as saying that the engagement was “news to me” and that Paris “hasn’t mentioned it to me.”

Paris is no stranger to engagements, as she was betrothed to Paris Latsis in 2005.

Paris Hilton and her hunky boyfriend Doug Reinhardt were seen heading out for a day in Paris, France today (February 10).

With her many by her side, the 28-year-old celebutante looked very chic in a black suit dress as she descended upon the City of Light for an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing.

Before she kicked her big day off, Paris tweeted: “Just had a big, delicious breakfast at The Ritz Hotel. One of the most beautiful hotels in the world by far. So Stunning, I love it!”

Meanwhile, she’s already in the most romantic city in the world — but could Paris be planning a secret wedding?

Paris seemed to acknowledge the engagement when receiving an award at the Hearts for Hope event in Los Angeles at the weekend. “I’d like to thank my future sister-in-law Casey Reinhardt,” she said.

It is unknown if Paris has already accepted a proposal, or whether she was just dropping hints to her beau.
