Touchdown Jesus On Fire In Ohio:big Butter Jesus King of Kings Statue Destroyed – As the song goes “It’s the end of the world as we know it.” Late last night a giant six-story-tall statue of Jesus Christ known as “Touchdown Jesus” or “Big Butter Jesus” was struck by lightning in a thunderstorm and it burned to the ground (it was made out of Styrofoam and fiberglass).

The masterpiece which is also dubbed the “King of Kings” statue is considered to be the nation’s largest monument honoring Jehovah and happens to be one of southwest Ohio’s most famous landmarks, was erected in 2004 at the evangelical Solid Rock Church along Interstate 75 in Monroe, just north of Cincinnati.

Earlier today the Solid Rock Church that has been flooded with calls and donations from all over the world have announced that they will rapidly resurrect the giant structure.
It must have pretty weird for someone to call 911 and tell the dispatcher that “Jesus is on fire”.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys – Wireimage

Reps for Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Alicia Keys and producer/rapper extraordinaire Swizz Beatz have confirmed that the couple are engaged to be married and expecting their first child together, People.com reports.

The pair will wed in a private ceremony later this year.

Rumors of the pregnancy began flying when Keys started the European leg of her Element of Freedom tour wearing baggy shirts to cover her growing baby bump.

This is the first marriage and child for Keys, the second marriage and third child for Beatz.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. —

Dianna Agron is stepping out of the “Glee” club and heading for the big screen.

Agron, who plays preggers Cheerio-turned-”Glee” clubber Quinn Fabray on the hit FOX show, has been cast in the teen sci-fi film “I Am Number four,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, based on the novel by James Frey and Jobie Hughes, follows a group of nine alien teenagers, who escape the destruction of their home planet, only to be hunted on Earth by a hostile species.

Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg are on board as producers of the film, while D.J. Caruso (“Eagle Eye,” “Disturbia”) will direct the project, which is slated to hit theaters in February 2011.

British heartthrob Alex Pettyfer, who stars opposite Vanessa Hudgens in the upcoming “Beastly,” will play the lead character, Number four.

Agron has been cast as a high school student who falls for four.

Also in the cast is “District 9″ breakout star Sharlto Copley, who will play Four’s mentor.

It’s the first big studio film for Agron, who turned 24 on Friday.

However, she’s not the only “Glee” star taking his or her talents to the big screen. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Cory Monteith will star in the teen rom-com “Monte Carlo,” alongside Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

In addition, “Glee” star Jayma Mays is playing the wife of Neil Patrick Harris (who will make a cameo on the FOX show this season) in the upcoming big screen live-action “The Smurfs,” which just started principal photography in New York City.

April Fools Day brought out a few more jokers than usual in Saskatoon Thursday morning as many of the local media aired and published gags that appear to have caught some people off guard.

Among the prank stories:

- CBC reporter Dan Zakreski, who himself lacks a full head of hair, ran a story in the morning of a new ointment, discovered accidentally at the Canadian Light Source synchrotron, that had cured male pattern baldness.

the researchers stumbled across the cure doing research on rats, according to the longtime reporter’s prank story.

“The consensus was people actually went for it . . . at least until my line about getting the ointment on my hands and now having to shave my palms twice a day. Yechhh!” Zakreski said in an email.

- Local radio station Wired 96.3 reported breaking news that Sutherland had decided to separate and become its own city.

Wired 96.3 came clean about their prank on Facebook and found out just how gullible people are.

“(You) guys suck . . . (I) went around telling my friends in my psych class on campus,” said one commenter.

- great Western Brewing Company sent out a press release Thursday announcing a new burger-flavored lager.

“This beer has all the delicious refreshment of an icy cold beer, with a hint of juicy burger right off the grill. It really does taste like summer in a can,” said the news release.

- Justice Minister Don Morgan added his own prank by fashioning a bill to amend Minister of Agriculture Bob Bjornerud’s name. bill 1000 would change his last name to be spelled as it sounds: Benrod.

- the StarPhoenix ran three small prank stories.

An online story complete with artist renderings said local developer Ken Achs had purchased the Traffic Bridge and planned to move it to River Landing where it would become a life-sized bridge sculpture.

Achs said he received numerous phone calls either laughing or congratulating him on the purchase. A few city councillors reported receiving phone calls and text messages from constituents excited about the news.

In a question and answer with SP business reporter Cassandra Kyle, real estate agent Norm Fisher revealed that Gene Simmons was about to purchase a mansion outside the city and begin filming a season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

Fisher expanded the story on his popular blog saying “the twenty-two acre land purchase was finalized late last year and construction of an 18,650 square foot walkout bungalow is nearing completion.”

Fisher said he had fun with the prank.

“I heard a lot of laughs. I got feedback via (Twitter) from a couple of people saying they took it hook line and sinker.”

Columnist Bronwyn Eyre had some fun in her Thursday morning column, “Talk about following your dreams.” she reported University of Saskatchewan professor Avril Primeau had invented a machine that can record a person’s dreams and play them back in near-high-definition fidelity.

“We’ll be leaving the marketing side to people in the administration who have a lot of experience with such things as inventions and patents. But we can’t see why our toy shouldn’t be available by April Fool’s Day, 2011,” Primeau said.

11th MEU, Bonhomme Richard ARG on way home

SAN DIEGO — more than 4,300 Marines and sailors are heading home to California from their seven-month deployment with the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

On Thursday — April Fool’s Day — amphibious assault ship Bonhomme Richard crossed the International Date Line, a day its skipper, Capt. John Funk, in a message posted on the ship’s Facebook page, noted lasted “an interesting 47 hours.” The crossing of another time zone shortened the extended day by one hour.

Bonhomme Richard and two other amphibious ships of the San Diego-based ready group, dock landing ship Rushmore and transport dock Cleveland, spent more than four months in the Persian Gulf and Horn of Africa regions conducting maritime security operations, and supporting theater security and cooperation exercises, including training in Kuwait, Djibouti and Tiimor-Leste.

A six-day liberty visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in mid-March came after 127 consecutive days at sea for the big deck Bonhomme Richard.

Command of the ready group changed hands in December when Capt. Rodney Clark, commodore and commander of Amphibious Squadron 7, handed the reins to Capt. Timothy Wilson during a ceremony aboard Bonhomme Richard.

Rushmore and Cleveland had left San Diego on Sept. 18 for the scheduled deployment, but Bonhomme Richard, along with more than 1,000 Marines, left San Diego on Sept. 24 after a week’s delay for repairs of cracks and leaks in three steam service turbine generators.

The 2,100-member 11th MEU, commanded by Col. Gregg Olson, includes Battalion Landing Team 2/4, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 166 (Reinforced) and Combat Logistics Battalion 11.

Navy units include Assault Craft Unit 1′s Detachment B, ACU 5′s Detachment F, Tactical Air Control Squadron 12′s Detachment 1, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23′s Detachment 3 and Fleet Surgical Team 9.

Usher joined Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” Monday, March 29 to talk about his new album “Raymond vs. Raymond,” his mentor Michael Jackson and his record label Us Records’ new teen sensation Justin Bieber.

Usher had this to say about guiding a young superstar like Justin Bieber:

“Having this type of success at this age can be very overwhelming. I’m really happy that I’m able to pull from my own experiences to help him understand how to handle it.”

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato – Bauer Griffin

Disney darlings Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato headed out on Sunday to attend church service together. but this wasn’t just any old outing, it was one of their first public appearances as a couple.

Over the weekend, Demi confirmed her much rumored relationship with the middle Jonas Brother in an interview with Billy Bush. The two have been fighting off relationship rumors since the premiere of their movie Camp Rock nearly two years ago, but Demi has always shot those rumors down saying they were just friends.

Fans seem to be extremely happy with the new pairing. Dubbed “Jemi,” their couple name has spent the entire weekend as one of Twitter’s top trending topics.

The pair will star in the sequel to Camp Rock this summer.
