The Muppets are coming, the Muppets are coming! For awhile now it’s been known that a new Muppet movie is going into production, with a script from Nick Stoller and Jason Segel and “Flight of the Conchords” co-creator James Bobin directing. MTV’s Josh Horowitz spoke with Stoller during the press tour for “Get him to the Greek” and he got an update on where things are at with Jim Henson’s beloved puppet troupe.

“It’s PG,” Stoller confirmed, before oddly jumping to a more obscure fact about the film. “There is no Muppet penis.” Ummmmmmmmmmmm… neat?

“This is dream come true,” he continued. “Jason and I have been writing for awhile, James Bobin… is just a brilliant director. we just had a table read last week with Muppets. I just got the first bunch of demo songs and they’re just awesome. and that’s going to start shooting in September.”

Stoller then went on to deliver his “Muppets are your gateway drug to comedy” spiel, which is really on the mark for people my age. my big hope is that Segel, Stoller and Bobin deliver a Muppets experience in their movie that will do the same thing for new generations.

Drake gave careful consideration to where on the track list each song would fall on his forthcoming Thank me later, from the introspective “Fireworks,” now the album opener, to the rumbling “Over,” which he described as a “turning point” on the album.

“We took a trip to Jamaica, where I did a lot of work for my album,” Drake told MTV News about “Over” in March. “There was this calm before the storm, and ‘Over’ represented the storm to me. It’s the moment. I wanted to emerge at first from this album and just let people know ‘This is how I’m coming out in the public eye. I’m ready for anything.’ “

The second turning point, though, according to the Toronto MC, is “Light Up,” his recently leaked collaboration with Jay-Z. On that track, produced by Tone Mason and Noah “40″ Shebib, the Brooklyn MC schools Drizzy on life at the top of the game. While the middle section of Thank me Later is heavy on blockbuster collabos, including features by Nicki Minaj, T.I. and Swizz Beatz, The-Dream and Young Jeezy, “Light Up” kicks off the concluding portion of the album.

” ‘Light Up’ really came from, Jay had a busy year, obviously, with The Blueprint 3 and the success of that and the tour,” Drake told MTV News about how the ‘tune came to be. “So we didn’t do it in the same room. but me and Jay have a lot of great conversations, man. So it would never just be like, ‘I’m gonna send you something, and we’re not gonna talk about it, and you send it back. we really talked about it.

“And Jay’s joint on the album is so important on the album, because it’s another turning point. whereas “Over” is a turning point for me, “Light Up” … Jay, really, I think it’s one of my favorite Jay verses. Jay not only gave me a great verse, but a life lesson. and I think he’s gonna give everybody a life lesson just about this business. It’s incredible.”

Nickelodeon’s Kids choice Awards tonight (3-27-2010) will be a star studded lineup including Justin Bieber and Rihanna. Sandra Bullock canceled her appearance tonight and, with all of the turmoil going on in her life right now, we can’t blame her. Justin Bieber will not be winning an award tonight as his rise to fame fell just after the deadline for nominees. That’s OK as Justin’s fans will get the prize when the singer takes to the stage to perform. Justin is being tight lipped about what song choice he will be singing tonight and wants it to be special. Justin said in a recent MTV interview, “I do know what I’m performing, but I don’t want to tell anyone.” When asked about performing with the sexy and sultry Rihanna, Justin replied, “Were both performing, but not together.” Could Justin be a little shy when it comes to performing with a sexy and hot star like Rihanna? the Nickelodeon Kids choice Awards starts at 8pm eastern time on the Nickelodeon Channel.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD sold slightly more than 4 million units in its first weekend on the shelves, MTV News reports. the second time around proves to be sweeter as New Moon bested Twilight‘s opening weekend sales by more than 200,000 units. Twilight sold 3.8 million DVD units in its first weekend.

MTV says the increased sales could be attributed to the “New Moon at Midnight” event parties Summit Entertainment organized across the nation at 7,000 stores. Twilight cast members like Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen, and director Chris Weitz even dropped in at parties to spend some quality time with fans.

Summit co-chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger released a joint statement, according to MTV, saying:

“As we have said all along, the fans are what make this franchise and we once again thank them for their support.”

Steve Nickerson, president of Summit’s Home Entertainment, thanked the retailers who partnered with the studio to host New Moon parties and release special edition DVDs, MTV reports.

According to MTV, New Moon has grossed $705 million worldwide.

Meanwhile, the trailer for the third installment in the franchise, Eclipse, was recently released. it hits theaters June 30.

Swedish film and video director Jonas Akerlund, who helmed some of Madonna’s most popular videos, has predicted Lady Gaga to be the next Queen of Pop.

Akerlund, who worked with Madonna on her Ray of Light and Music videos, has directed Gaga’s new nine-and-a-half minute Telephone video, which also features Beyonce.

And while working with the Poker Face star he couldn’t help noticing how similar she was to Madonna.

“I really don”t like to compare the artists that I work with, because they are all so unique and so different. One thing for sure is that Gaga is a true artist. She’s really a huge talent, and she’s such a hard worker. That makes me think of Madonna, because Madonna is always such a hard worker, more than anybody else,” the Daily Star quoted Akerlund, as telling MTV.com.

He added: “She’s (Madonna) always very creative. she always goes back to creativity. she has so much politics around and all these stupid rumours and gossip and all that, and some artists manage to stay above that. So, in that sense, I”m fine with comparing (Gaga and Madonna), but then again, they”re so different.

“I also have 12 years with Madonna and I have two videos with Gaga; it’s for the future to tell, but I think that Gaga has all the potential and all the tools and all the brain to take her creativity as far she wants to. But she”s great.”

“The Two Coreys.” following Haim’s death on Wednesday from an apparent drug overdose, Feldman released a statement expressing grief over the passing of his longtime friend.

“I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door,” Feldman explained in the statement. “They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. my eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face.”I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school,” the statement continued. “This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time.”Haim, 38, was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital early Wednesday and declared dead shortly thereafter. TMZ cites unnamed law-enforcement sources as saying prescription-medication bottles were found near his body. Haim had long battled drug addictions and told MTV News in 2007, “They built rehabs because of me.”"I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived,” Feldman said.

Back in February guitarist for Paramore Josh Farro broke hearts when he announced his engagement and that he would be sitting out on the band’s tour of the Pacific Rim. during the tour Taylor York’s brother Justin filled in but the band still felt like they were missing something.

“He’s the first person to get married out of the band, obviously, and out of a lot of our friends, so not only is it a big deal, I don’t think he wanted to leave and be trying to deal with it when he’s never had an experience with that sort of thing,” Paramore singer Hayley Williams told MTV Radio earlier this week.

“He’s doing all the planning and all the work with it. … We’re all really psyched for him.”

Paramore will return to the United States next week to get ready for their spring tour. hopefully Farro will be back in the picture. it is to be assumed that he will get married in between tours. but that has not officially been said yet.

Well, almost a month ago, Earthquake muscled Haiti, causing severe and irreparable damages. more than 0.1 million people died, there is nothing to talk about them, they are gone but there are more than 3 million people, who lived for almost 28 days without hygienic food, drinkable water,

shelter and medications, although record donations have been collected and the process is still going on just like SOS help for Haiti but unfortunately the donations are not reaching the Haitians yet and they are as helpless as they were on the day of earthquake.

The point of concern is why the donations are not reaching their destinations? why it’s taking too much time and forcing more people to get killed due to non availability of food and shelter? No one has yet taken any steps to ensure the delivery of goods and food to the Haitians,

none of the Government official turn up, no one like Bill Clinton or Bush talked or asked about the disbursement of good to the Haitians and Haitians are just wondering that just like their relatives, family members who are still missing, they don’t have any clue of them, they just knew that they might be buried in somewhere under the collapsed building,

same the case with the donations, Haitians have the idea that the donations has been collected in large number but it’s still missing after a month and they are just living on the edges with the hopes of collected donations.

Melanie Fiona didn’t bring home the best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy for her soulful ballad “It kills Me” this past weekend, but her nod in that category seems like a sign that she’s poised for great things ahead. The song has been the #1 R&B/Hip-Hop record for the last four weeks, and she’s currently on tour with Alicia Keys — all of which makes her a safe bet as one of MTV News’ breakthrough artists of 2010.

“After all the promo and hard work in 2009, towards the end of 2009, this song caught on and it was like a wildfire effect, and all these great things started happening because of this one record,” Fiona told MTV News.

Even before the success of “It kills Me,” the 26-year-old’s album, The Bridge, caught the attention of industry heavyweights. she said she met with Jay-Z and his friend Tata in New York to play them some music just before she completed the project, and now she’s managed by Jay-Z Roc Nation and signed to Steve Rifkind’s SRC label.

“They listened to the music and they were like, ‘Yo, this is great,’ ” Fiona said of the meeting. “Tata was like, ‘We’d be honored to represent this.’ I was like, ‘You’d be honored?!’ “

Before a Roc Nation co-sign, however, the Toronto native said that it was difficult breaking into the music biz at home and in the States. “For the type of music I do, I knew I wanted it to be an international thing, so I wanted to not limit myself to one territory or country, and I wanted to just really go for the height of what I could do.

“A lot of people doubted me, they doubted my ability, they doubted my credibility, they doubted who I was,” she added. “It was important for me to really go through that journey and figure out that it’s not about conforming to somebody else, society or somebody else’s culture. It’s about bringing light to your own.”

It’s probably not coincidental that Fiona came up with another Toronto artist who broke through and put his city on the map last year. she and Drake were a part of the same scene that was trying to start a movement and showcase Toronto’s talent. and now she’s proud to see how far Drake has come.

“It was an amazing feeling to then travel and to leave Toronto and then meet back up and to see where we are at, at the peak of our career,” Fiona said. “We’re just so supportive and happy for one another. It feels greater that it started out so small, at an infantile stage in Toronto, and now we’re both doing the best that we’ve ever done.”

“Hope For Haiti Now” telethon totals. The Earthquake in Haiti, read my full post about it here, has made many Americans come together and give to the all star hosted, “HOPE FOR HAITI NOW” relief fund. It was a two hour telethon that aired Friday, January 22, 2010 on major networks and dozens of other channels such as MTV, Bravo and PBS.

Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, stated, “the public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti now,’ and the donations continue to come in.”

As of today, January 23, the total donated (so far) is a remarkable $57 million. Keep in mind that this total only included money raised by phone, text and web. It has not yet tallied up donations made by corporations or iTunes, in which people could buy performances and 99 cents was then donated.
