I’ve been reading your column every week, but haven’t seen anyone ask about Sasha Alexander, whose character was killed on NCIS. What is she doing now?

In fact, a number of readers have asked about her (and have continued to), but there’s some new information since the last time we addressed this. The actress has been signed to co-star with Angie Harmon ( Law & Order, Women’s Murder Club) in Rizzoli & Isles, an upcoming mystery series based on novels by Tess Gerritsen. Alexander will play a medical examiner who works with a homicide detective (Harmon) to investigate crimes in Boston; Lorraine Bracco ( The Sopranos) and Billy Burke ( Twilight) also will have roles in the show, which had no set premiere date as of this writing.

Is John Francis Daly of Bones any relation to Tyne Daly of Cagney & Lacey? He reminds me of her, especially when he smiles.

He isn’t, and a big clue is that he actually spells his last name Daley. however, the former Cagney & Lacey star does have relatives in showbiz; her brother Tim is a star of ABC’s Private Practice, and their late father, James, spent many years as Dr. Paul Lochner on CBS’s Medical Center. One of Tyne Daly’s daughters by actor-director Georg Stanford Brown, Kathryne Dora Brown, also is an actress who appeared with her mother in a number of episodes of Judging Amy.

On Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, I saw Justin Bieble wearing a cast boot on his right leg. What happened to him?

He’s actually Justin Bieber, and the young music star broke his right foot while opening for Taylor Swift in a concert at London’s Wembley Arena. We’re not sure which is worse -well, OK, we are -but he also had to forgo his encore at that show. He then had to wear the cast you saw for the following six weeks.

Taylor Swift’s new American Greetings cards are out in stores now.

The first 12 in the collection are being introduced with a display marked, “Hi, I’m Taylor and these are my cards.”

Staying true to who Taylor is and what she loves, the creative team at American Greetings worked closely with the artist to come up with an eclectic selection of cards that glitter, offer traditional values with her personal flare, and embody her words that make such an emotional connection.

Here’s one of them, which features music.

On the front it says, “Being fearless isn’t being 100% unafraid, it’s being terrified but you jump anyway…”

On the inside: “Wishing you the most unreal, unforgettable, fearless and fun birthday ever.”

John Mayer is an unapologic womanizer — but his latest conquest may garner his a girlizer title.

While other reports suggest they’re dating, according to In Touch John and Grammy golden girl Taylor Swift hooked up when they were both in Nashville last month.

A source says they were getting rather cozy in the recording studio after meeting up several times. “She was sitting on John’s lap, her arms were around him, and she was talking in his ear,” says insider. “They were acting like teenagers.”

That night, John, 32, and Taylor, 20, dined at the restaurant Cabana and were joined by friends afterward. The couple left alone and went back to The Hermitage Hotel, where they arrived in the loading dock to avoid being spotted and were escorted to John’s suite, the source claims. Both of their reps deny the story. But the source claims, “Taylor spent the night and enjoyed mid-morning room service before leaving his suite the next day.”

Though the source says that Taylor “adores” John, it seems the womanizer is up to his old ways, involving yet another starlet in boosting his career. When asked by a friend how his night with Taylor went, John laughed, and boasted, “How do you think it went?”

Only time will tell whether hooking up with music’s sleaziest lothario will affect Taylor’s reign as America’s current sweetheart.

Looks like we weren’t the only ones who thought Taylor Swift sounded a little off on Grammy night.

After endless criticism of her song with Stevie Nicks, the head of her record label is defending her performance.

“This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note,” Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta tells The Associated Press in a phone interview. “This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”

Borchetta first responded to the backlash in The Tennessean, where he said: “Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it. … She’s an extraordinary songwriter and her vocal performances are getting better. Everybody is not perfect on any given day.”

Borchetta said Swift had a technical issue Sunday night. “We had a volume problem in the ear. So, she was concerned that she wasn’t able to hear everything in the mix. That’s just part of live TV. … You’re going to have difficulties on occasion.”

Music has always changed. I have always had an opened mind of all kinds of music.

Some music I can’t stand.

Everyone has an opinion, but for goodness sake why, for two days, keep bashing Taylor Swift?

The Tribune Music Critic needs to move on and let readers know the truth. He does not like Taylor Swift’s music at all.I saw her in concert with my two daughters. I liked all of her songs.

Maybe we should be told how the catergories are processed. who does the voting?

We can keep bashing one another or move on.

Since I like Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks, I’m sure the Music Tribune Critic doesn’t like me either.

There are pictures. there is speculation. but Taylor Swift is off to tour Down under so we have no way of knowing what is a budding romance and what is just plain old friendship. but I will say this: if Swift is going out with the singing hunk of a jock that is Cory Monteith from the hit TV show, Glee, then I wish them the very best. Swift revealed on Sunday night (Jan. 31) that she’s “really loving Glee right now.” Whether or not she’ll do a cameo on the show is unknown. but she was seen at a party with Monteith (a Canadian high-school drop out who loves hockey and used to be a Wal-Mart greeter and a cab driver) during the pre-Grammy festivities in Los Angeles. Then again, Monteith told E! News he’d be spending Valentine’s Day alone. could he have meant “alone” alone? Or alone because Swift is in Australia?

Beating out the likes of Beyonce and Lady Gaga, country singing sensation Taylor Swift took home the big Grammy prize: Album of the Year for Fearless.

“I just hope that you know how much this means to me,” she said on stage. “We get to take this back to Nashville. Oh my God. Our families are freaking out in their living rooms. My dad and my little brother are losing their minds in the living room right now. …

This is the story all of us, when we’re 80 years old and we’re telling the same story over and over again to our grandkids and they’re so annoyed with us, this is the story we’re going to be telling over and over again — that ‘In 2010 we got to win Album of the Year at the Grammys!’”

The stars stepped out in full force on Saturday night (January 30) for the Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris event held in Beverly Hills.

Grammy night’s leading ladies Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Fergie were all on hand to honor the uber powerful Universal Music Group chairman.

Fellow celebrity attendees included the likes of Kevin Jonas, Danielle Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Slash, Ke$ha, Ciara, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Jay Z, Jamie Fox, Kris Allen, Kara DioGuardi, Russell Brand, Carrie Underwood and fiance Mike Fisher.

The star-studded event (hosted by the infamous Clive Davis) was the official lead-in bash ahead of Sunday night’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
